Irene is an MOE-registered Teacher, who has been actively teaching the English Language for more than two decades to a heterogeneous league of learners from Singapore, Indonesia, China, Vietnam, Thailand, Japan, Myanmar and Malaysia. She intuitively understands the needs of diverse learners and encompasses an innate ability to simplify concepts, so almost anyone, young and not-so-young, can comprehend them. Irene’s passion and zest are undeniably infectious and instantly evident in her teaching style and pedagogy.

Under her tutelage, most of her learners thrive in especially national examinations, attaining the highest possible grade. For four consecutive years, from 2018 to 2021, a hundred percent of her learners attained distinctions for General Paper in the GCE ‘A’ Level National Examinations. Between 91% to 93% of her learners who take on the English Language Examination for the GCE ‘O’ Level National Examinations score distinctions every year, and all her learners who sit for the English Language Examination for the Primary School Leaving Examination attain Achievement Level 3 and above.

Irene strives to continually reinvent herself and stay relevant in today’s ever-evolving education space. In 2016, she attained a Certificate in English Language Teaching to Adults (CELTA), awarded by University of Cambridge, placing her in the top 25 percent of her cohort in Singapore. Her recent endeavours include taking on a couple of programmes under Singapore Workforce Skills Qualifications System (WSQ). In 2019, Irene completed her Advanced Certificate in Training and Assessment (ACTA v5) and in the first quarter of 2020, she most recently completed a Diploma in Adult and Continuing Education (DACE v2).

Her long-standing triumph is attaining ‘The Best in Absurd Laws in Singapore’ & ‘2nd Best in Absurd Laws in the World’ in September 2019 and earning the title of ‘Singapore Gum Chewer’ on QuizUp. She aspires to be the best in the world.
