Yvonne, one of the two big cheeses behind The English Council (based in Singapore), is an MOE-registered Teacher who has a Master of Education (English) co-awarded by the National Institute of Education (NIE) & Nanyang Technological University (NTU) as well as a Certificate in English Language Teaching to Adults (CELTA) from the University of Cambridge, under her belt. In addition, she is an Associate Adult Educator with the Institute of Adult Learning (SUSS-IAL) as well as a Certified Industry Trainer/Curriculum Developer/Assessor (DACE & ACTA).
During her métier as a Corporate Educator, Yvonne had taught Service Excellence and Workplace Literacy (WPL) Programmes to adults to help hone their communication skills at work and in life. In case these are not noteworthy enough, Yvonne is also a Certified Etiquette Consultant and has authored and published two etiquette guidebooks, currently available in our libraries. Her passion for the English language spurred her to set up The English Council in hopes of not only enabling her learners to master the language and develop the same admiration for it, but ensuring that it is done so in a fun and engaging way.
